More Paint
The painting continues. I’ve nearly finished the main wall short of a few touch ups around the edges. Of course, I’ve smudged the baseboard molding, but I’ll wait to repaint the woodwork until the room is completely painted (which means I’ll probably have to pay someone to do the high reaches of the ceiling and walls). I can get a lot of it done with an extension pole, but the corners and detail work will have to be done up close.
Red is undoubtedly the hardest color to paint. Yesterday I did three coats to varying degrees on the big wall, and finished with another coat today. I moved around into the kitchen and for the most part finished the piece of wall behind the bookcases/shelves I put in a couple weeks ago. Now it’s on to the area above the counter top, over the stove, and behind the fridge. That’ll leave one large section of wall, but I’ll wait for the weekend after next to complete the job since I’ll be at Mom & Dad’s this weekend.
Once I finish up the red in the kitchen I’ll paint all the cabinetry and woodwork the same white we used in the bathroom… it’s a nice bright white and seems to cover well.
There’s a tentative plan for a house warming party in October sometime. My grandmother is coming down from Pittsburgh, and it’d be nice to include her in the festivities if I can get it to come together.
