The Hansen’s just left a few minutes ago after having supper, watching a movie, and then doing a little exploratory surgery on a wall in my living room. I made the soup that we’d originally planned to have on New Year’s Eve and I forced them to sit through Ishtar, because, as you all know, my primary purpose in life is to get that film the recognition it deserves.

After the movie finished David and I started brainstorming on the balcony addition. There were just too many variables without knowing what was inside the kitchen/living room wall so in mid sentence I picked up a hammer and started pounding sheet rock out of the way so we could see what the situation was. The good news is that we can easily do what I have in mind.

I need to sit down and finish mapping out the extent of the work, come up with a materials list and then we can begin work. I’m tentatively thinking we’ll begin work sometime in late February or early March.
