Crystal Reports Equals Ergh
I’m really fed up with the inconsistencies in how Crystal Reports actually renders a field. Text label objects seem to have one sort of padding inside the field, while actual field objects have a completely different sort of padding. And god forbid you actually try to set the dimensions of an object… sometimes the object will do what you want and others no matter what you enter, the app will offset by a few hundredths of an inch.
You’re probably saying to yourself, “Gee, a few hundredths of an inch… kind of anal don’t you think, Bruce?” And my reply to you would be, “Fine, if you’re not going to actually abide by the dimension properties you allow me to set, why even allow me to set them?” I realize I’m used to designing in Illustrator where I have control to the thousandth of an inch, but come on, how things seems to have a mind of their own in Crystal is maddening.
