Bruce, After looking for decent instructions online for removing the door panel on my 1999 F-150 I finally found yours. Great Job! I'm pretty handy with most things but with automobiles, not so much. I know I'd have broken something without those great photos. And the icing on the cake was finding Mark's info on replacing the actuator. It took me a total of about 3 hours (like I said, not too good with cars) , it would take half that time to do it again. You saved me a bunch of money, many thanks.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect the anchors are just snap-fitted into the sheet metal of the door itself. On my truck (2000) there are only two screws in the lower panel, so I doubt your problem is there. They are less about holding the panel to the door and are more about locking it in place. The hooks on the back of the panel are the main holding mechanism. Maybe someone has removed the panel before and they didn't reseat one of those hooks correctly.

Bruce - I have an 02 Supercrew - My door panels are loose - seems like the plastic anchors that the screws on the bottom go into are not tight - How do these anchors get secured to the door frame?
